Over the festive period, we at the Campaign for Disability Justice are taking a short break. We will have a small number of staff working from Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 December and the office will be completely closed from Thursday 24th December until Thursday 1 January. During this time, we’ll be unable to respond to your queries, but if you’re in need of urgent support, please have a look at the resources below.

Find your local advice services:
- Advice local covers a range of local advice agencies. Just entering your postcode gives you the option to filter for the type of advice you’re looking for.

Mental health support:
- NHS Mental Health Services: The National Health Service provides various mental health services, including talking therapies and urgent support. You can access these services through your General Practitioner (GP) or by contacting NHS 111 for urgent assistance. Where to get urgent help for mental health - NHS

- SANE line: Provides out-of-hours mental health support and information. 0300 304 7000 from 4.30 pm to 10.30 pm daily. SANE line services
Suicide prevention support:
- Samaritans: Offers confidential support to anyone in distress or considering suicide. Available 24/7 at 116 123.
- National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK: Provides a supportive listening service to individuals with thoughts of suicide. Call 0800 689 5652 between 6 pm and midnight daily.
Debt advice:
- National Debt Line: A charity offering free, confidential, and independent advice on dealing with debt problems. Contact them at 0808 808 4000 or visit their website for more information.
- Step Change Debt Charity: Provides free debt advice and solutions to help you manage your finances. You can reach them at 0800 138 1111 or through their website.
- Citizens Advice: Offers free, confidential, and impartial advice on money and debt issues. Find your local branch or access online resources through their website.
Mental health and suicide prevention support online forums/ communities:
- Side by Side by Mind: An online community provided by Mind, offering a safe space to talk about mental health and connect with others who understand your experiences.
- Clic: A free UK-wide online community supporting adults with their mental health, featuring discussion forums and peer support.
- Mental Health Forum: A community-run platform offering discussions on various mental health topics, including anxiety, depression, and more.
Homelessness and housing
- Shelter – provides free support and advice on a wide range of housing and homelessness issues.
Online forums and communities that cater specifically to Disabled people.
Mental health and suicide prevention support:
- Scope’s Online Community: Scope, a disability equality charity, offers an online community where disabled people can connect, share experiences, and seek advice on various topics, including mental health.
- Able Here: An online community run by disabled people, providing forums to discuss mental health issues, share experiences, and offer mutual support.
- Disability Sanctuary: A peer support network and online community offering forums for discussions on mental health, well-being, and other topics relevant to disabled people.
