Tell the Government what Disabled people think about flexible work, Access to Work and reasonable adjustments

Feeling fulfilled matters to most of us – that can come from friends, family, our hobbies or for some of us, our career.
Disabled people want that fulfilment too, but when it comes to work - for those of us who can work - there are often needless barriers to the jobs and careers we love.
Getting to the office is impossible if transport isn’t accessible. Rigid office hours are harder if we require an assistant to shower. Sometimes our pain levels are just too much.

Disabled people and flexible work inquiry
The House of Commons Women and Equalities Committee is holding an inquiry to learn about Disabled people and flexible work (they have also supplied information in accessible formats). It asks things like:
- Does flexible working - like starting and stopping when we can – impact Disabled people?
- Do remote or hybrid jobs have an impact?
- Are ‘Back to the Office’ rules impacting Disabled people?
- How effective is Access to Work?
- Do employers understand “reasonable adjustments”?
- How effective are laws about these things?
Have your say
Disabled people need to have a say in these issues - our community lives through them and experiences them every day. To make sure your voice can be part of our response, you can complete our survey on flexible work.
We’d especially like to hear from:
- Disabled people who are looking for work
- Disabled people would like to work but can’t
- Disabled people who have times when they can and cannot work
- Disabled people who are working, including if you’re facing issues
- Friends and family of disabled people
The survey will close on Friday 5 June
