Sara Nicole Gardner, Trustee

My background is in Mental Health, and after studying a BSc, MSc and MA in Psychology I came to work at Barnet Voice for Mental Health as part of the Inclusion Barnet team. I’ve since worked in both research and clinical settings and have IB to thank for the solid grounding I developed in the social model of disability, the holistic approach to living well that I developed, and the importance I place on lived experience. I’m proud to support a peer led local charity close to my heart that empowers the community and makes such a difference to so many people’s lives.

Latha Srinivasan, Trustee

Latha is a qualified accountant. She stepped down on grounds of health, after around 19 years as a finance Manager in an inter-governmental organisation. This was set up under the auspices of the United Nations to pay compensation to victims of oil pollution from accidents involving oil tankers like fishermen, tourist operators etc. whose livelihoods were affected. She would like to make a difference, however small, to society at large. Having volunteered since June 2018 with the book-keeping and realising the good work being done by Inclusion Barnet, she wanted to be more involved in its good work. Hence the decision to become a trustee.

John McCafferty, Trustee

John is a wheelchair user who receives support funding from adult social services, Continuing Healthcare and Access To Work in the form of direct payments. He worked for Barnet Centre for Independent Living and Inclusion Barnet from 2012-17 as a Peer Support Broker, then as a Prevention and Wellbeing Coordinator for Barnet Council and is now CEO of a local independent accessible arts centre. He is an active Barnet resident and has a BA and MA in Photography on disability studies and portraiture. John believes independence should be a key aim for all, which is made easier through effective support plus sharing of knowledge and information. He has nine years’ experience as a Trustee.

Anastasia Berry (she/her), Trustee

“I have over 15 years’ experience in the health and disability charity sector working in campaigns, policy and public affairs. Up until recently I was a co-chair of the Disability Benefits Consortium for 7 years, campaigning and pushing for a better benefits system for disabled people, a role I absolutely loved where I felt I was able to achieve some real changes.”

Anastasia is passionate about co-production and supporting charities to get better at involving people with lived experience in everything they do. “Living with a health condition myself I know how important and valuable this is, and I’m part of a number of experts by experience groups.”

“I’m delighted to be a Trustee for Inclusion Barnet, and excited about the future.”
