Welcome to the Campaign for Disability Justice's newest organisation supporters, the Accessible Waterways Association.

About The Accessible Waterways Association

Led by and for Disabled people, the Accessible Waterways Association exists to support Disabled boaters and waterways users. They work to make UK waterways like rivers and canals as accessible as possible, so everyone can use and enjoy them.

They support people who live on boats or take boat holidays, own hire-boats, fish in rivers and canals, cycle by them, walk or wheel on the towpaths, or volunteer or work with waterways.

The Accessible Waterways Association provide a hub of information for people who need to find out about accessibility on UK waterways. They provide support and advocacy to Disabled people and waterways users with access requirements.

They run the boat Blue Badge scheme, and represent accessibility issues with waterways authorities, charities and statutory groups like councils, to make sure the areas around waterways include everyone, and upgrades to them consider everyone’s needs.

We are delighted to welcome them as a new organisation supporter of the Campaign for Disability Justice.
